You may have heard of her once or twice, but Taylor Swift is one of the most famous singers today. Born in Pennsylvania, she was actually named after James Taylor, which turned out to be very suitable for her. She began her career early, at the age of 16 when she got signed to Big Machine Records as a country singer. Her singing career took off after her single ‘Our Song’ became a number one hit. Taylor’s second album, Fearless, came out in 2008, further increasing her stardom that was just beginning to form. Through the many years of her incredible career, Taylor has had her challenges and struggles, but she always came out on top. All the while, she kept making chart-topping music and winning countless awards. And as they say, the rest is history.
Her Lucky Number Is 13
As she was born on December 13, 1989, Taylor decided to make that number her lucky one. Especially since it tends to be seen as an unlucky number – case and point, Friday the 13th. Either way, this number has been part of her image for years now. During her shows for a while, she would draw a big number 13 on the back of her hand along with lyrics running down her arms.
She Loves Cats
While she is an animal lover in general, Taylor especially loves cats. She has two Scottish folds, one named Olivia Benson after the TV character from ‘Law and Order SVU’ and one named Meredith Grey after the character in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’.
She Wrote Every Single Song In Her Third Album
As the fans were becoming more and more excited for her next album, Taylor was under a lot of pressure to make amazing music to keep the fans happy. It isn’t to say that she didn’t enjoy it, she constantly said in interviews how much she loves the songwriting process. Turns out, her entire third album was written solely by her with no co-writers whatsoever. That’s pretty amazing when you think about it.
Her Favorite Holiday Is Christmas
This one isn’t so much of a surprise seeing as Taylor grew up on an 11 acre Christmas tree farm. In that situation, one would either grow to hate the holiday over time or love it. Taylor grew to love the holiday more than any other.
She’s Clumsy
As Taylor’s mentioned numerous times in interviews, she is a bit clumsy. Honestly, that makes her all the more likable.
She’s Been Nominated For Over 500 Awards
It’s no surprise that with all the success Taylor has had till now that she also won many, many awards as a result. While she’s been nominated for over 500 of them, she won over 200 awards in total, including 10 Grammys. That’s very impressive.
