You Don’t Need To Leave The House To Take Care Of Yourself

Nowadays, with everything going on in the world, it’s advised to stay at home as much as you possibly can. It can seem rather gloomy to be home all day, and it makes sense. Not having a change of scenery for a while can have a negative effect on us and the way we feel. However, that isn’t to say you can’t have a great day at home. In fact, we encourage you to make the most of this situation and take some time to practice some much-needed self-care: without leaving the house or spending loads of money. Self-care is so important, especially during times like these when our mental and physical health can take a turn for the worse. So, let’s discuss different ways you can do something positive for yourself to feel better overall and still stay safe at home.

Exercise

First thing’s first, you don’t need to leave the house in order to get a good workout in. There are plenty of apartment-friendly workouts online. Not to mention, you can do many different things, aside from just the usual bodyweight exercises; you can do yoga or pilates if you prefer that type of exercise. Naturally, you don’t have to go all out if you’re not feeling up to it. Even 10 or 15 minutes of exercise will make a difference. Whatever works for you!

Do Some Cleaning

Studies have proven time and time again that cleaning your space can have a very positive effect on your mind and body. Having a cluttered and messy home can seriously affect the way you feel – and not in a good way, obviously. Aside from the benefit of having a clean home, cleaning your house can help in so many ways. From getting physical activity into your day to improving your mental health, there really is no reason not to get some cleaning done when you’re at home. You’ll feel worlds better afterward, believe us.

Take A Bath

Who doesn’t love a luxurious bubble bath? Now that you have some time, add that to your plans for the day! Prepare a relaxing playlist and maybe light some candles as well. Really go all out for this one.

Drink Water

One major point we all need to remember is to keep hydrated. Whatever you’re doing, make sure to have water on-hand and drink it. Staying hydrated really is one of the easiest ways to take good care of yourself.

Draw

Whether you think of yourself as an artist or not, grab a pen or pencil and draw a little. It doesn’t matter what it is or how it turns out. The point is to just do something artistic with your hands. If you happen to have a coloring book, that is a great option as well. Drawing or coloring is a wonderful soothing activity.

Do A Puzzle Or Read

On a similar note of doing something with your hands, if you like puzzles, do one! Aside from taking time away from screens, it will force you to think a little and do something different from your ordinary routine. Just pop on some music you like and get going! If you aren’t one for puzzles, pick up that book you’ve been meaning to read and get started. Either option is good.
